Trip Overview
Upper Mustang landscape is almost similar to Tibetan plateau. It is a high, dry, and beautiful valley. The terrain has riddled with eroded gorges, colorful formations of rocks, in addition to vibrant cultures, architectures, and languages.
Tiji festival is a popular festival of Mustang. And is celebrated for three days in the spring season in Lo Manthang. It is a festival of chasing demons away and saving the Kingdom. During the festival, there will be a performance with a bit of cultural music and dance.
Lo Manthang is also the homeland of former King Jigme Dorjee Palbar Bista when Mustang used to be a separate Kingdom. The locals of Mustang still give high respect to the King.
