Langtang Valley Ganja La Pass Trek

The trip begins from about 8 hrs drive from Kathmandu to Syabru. Langtang region is a valley that lies on the main Himalayan border to Tibet in a lower range of snowy peaks. Explore the Tamang village, Tibetan village and low altitude glaciers are the main attraction of the trek. Langtang Valley is the valley of Yala Peak on north, Leonpo Gang in north-east and Mt. Langtang Lirung in the west.

The trail connects from the valley to Ganja-La pass to provide beautiful panoramic views of Langtang Lirung. After crossing the pass we reach a Sherpa town called Tarkeghyang, but the Sherpas of Trakeghyang are different from those hailing from Solukhumbu. There is a mix of Sherpa, Tamang, and Lama cultures.

Langtang Helambu Gosaikunda Trek

The trek follows the river upstream through pine forests, bamboo, and rhododendrons. Ascending through high pastures, we arrive at the meadows of Kyanjin Gompa.

The trail of Gosaikunda climbs steep up through farmlands and reaches alpine ridges. The ridge offers panoramic views of huge Himalayas and reaches sacred lakes at high altitudes, namely Gosaikunda, Saraswatikunda, and Bhairabkunda Lakes. We also get to see glaciers and high mountains of the Langtang mountain range.

Gosaikunda Lake is at an altitude of 4300m. Every year thousands of pilgrims visit the lake, especially in the full moon of August. This is also a lake revered by Buddhists. According to Hindu mythology, the other two lakes were formed by Lord Shiva with his Trishul (trident) by digging earth to get water. These lakes are the main source of Trishuli River.

Helambu Valley is popular for its natural beauty and climates. Though it lacks mountain views of Langtang, Helambu is a fine winter culture trek. Langtang valley and Gosaikunda trek does not require special permits or flights, so logistically it is easy. Further, Langtang Helambu Gosaikunda trek is a preferred teahouse trek as it is not as busy and crowded as other trekking regions like Annapurna and Everest.

Chisapani Nagarkot Trek

We walk through the deep forest and get to the Tamang village of Mulkharka. Along the trail, there is some wildlife, like monkeys, wild boar, varieties of birds, etc. Then continuing on the trail, we reach Chisapani, which is the highest point of the trek. And also the best viewpoint, from here we can see a beautiful range of the Himalayas, and trekking trail of Gosaikunda as well. The view from the top includes the valleys, the Melamchi river, and the hillside.

Nagarkot is the most visited hill station of Kathmandu. It is also popular for sunrise views over the Himalayas. Nagarkot welcomes you with cool and clean air. The view from Nagarkot extends from Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. You can also see Mt. Everest as a tiny dot on the horizon. It is the best spot on the Chisapani Nagarkot trek.

Poon Hill Ghorepani Trek

Poon Hill Ghorepani trek is a short trek of Nepal, which can finish in 10days. The trip starts with a day tour in Kathmandu. Tour in Kathmandu allows knowing about the cultural religious and also historical value of the city. The entrance of the entire trek in Nayapul, where the permit will be checking. The trail is throughout the river, villages, and valleys. Natural beauty along the trail is beyond the thoughts. Terrace filed, jungle walk always attracts the trekkers.

Ghorepani is a village just a night before the Poon Hill. It is the village of Poon Magar community, and most of the males are joining in the British Army. The museum of Ghorepani shows the antique equipment which was used by the ancestor. The following morning reaches Poon Hill (2840m), which is the climax of the trip. Poon Hill is a popular sunrise viewpoint, from where we can see the superb view of sunrise over Himalaya. The rewarding views of Himalaya from Poon Hill always drag the minds. Above the 8000m, Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Annapurna First, and Mount Manasulu and other lower peaks Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Dhampus peak, etc. can see from the viewpoint.

A beautiful city Pokhara is the entry and exit town of the entire trek. It is also known as the city of lakes. Phew Lake is the largest and popular one. The picturesque Island temple, Tal Barahi always drag the attention. David falls, Seti River gorges, caves, the museum is the visiting spot of Pokhara. Tilicho Lake Trek

Besi Sahar is the beginning point of the trek towards Tilicho Lake and Thorong La Pass. Travel to Besi Sahar via Prithvi Highway until Dumre Bazaar and then take right towards Besisahar. The trail after Bazaar goes along Marshyangdi River with great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east. Besi Sahar is also the starting point of Annapurna Circuit Trek as well. After leaving Besi Sahar, the trail follows dirt roads before crossing Marshyangdi River. Reach the first Gurung village of Khudi on stony steps, down to Puwa and joining to Khudi Road. Bhulbhule is the first checkpoint of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permit. Most of the towns are connected with dirt roads, so the trail involves walking on dirt roads for a bit of stretch up to Manang.

Hiking from Manang to Muktinath is on trekking trails. Our adventurous hike of Tilicho lake, the view of both lakes and the high snowbound ridges between Khangsar Kang and Nilgiri is awesome. The trail of Tilicho Base Camp is quite narrow and demands full attention while walking. And move to Thorong La Pass. Mt. Gangapurna, Mt. Annapurna IV, Mt. Annapurna III can see before and Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri after the pass. Trails head to Muktinath, a sacred place for Hindus and Buddhists. On the way to Jomsom, you will get a great opportunity to explore more than 100 years old caves and monasteries. From Jomsom, a 25-minute scenic flight takes you to Pokhara.

Jomsom Muktinath Trek

After Kathmandu, Pokhara is the town where we check the backpack for last minute. Pokhara is a beautiful city of Nepal and is also known as the city of lakes. It is famous for paragliding, boating, and a panoramic view of mountains. Mt. Machhapurchhre, Lamjung Himal, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and Mt. Manaslu. A short journey to Nayapul involves driving at the hill by showing the beautiful Himalaya plus views of Pokhara and Phewa lake. Also, you can see how paragliders cover azure sky just over the lake, city and nearby Mt. Machhapurchhre. Hiking to Poon Hill 3210m through the scenic Gurung and Magar villages is another highlight of the entire trek. Poon Hill is the famous viewpoint for sunrise over the Himalaya. And also a single complete trek Poon Hill Ghorepani.

Jomsom Muktinath trek is also popular in Hindus and Buddhist community. Hindu community believe in salvation, and bathing in the waters of Muktinath is thought to lead to the salvation of the soul after death. Guru Rimpoche had meditated at Muktinath, so Buddhist pilgrims are also visiting the place. Inside the compound of Muktinath Temple, there is a Buddhist Gompa and a Vishnu temple. It is the symbol of good interfaith. Muktinath Temple is also popular with 108 waterspouts.

Annapurna Circuit Trek

The trek begins from eye-catching rice fields of lowlands and reaches one of the highest passes Thorong La (5,416m).

The path goes through the gorges of Marshyangdi River before swinging west into the drained land of Mustang. And also in the north, you can see the beautiful Annapurna Himalayas. The trek starts with a 7hr drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar through the Prithivi highway. The outside views from the roadway make the journey remarkable. On the way of driving, you can see beautiful Himalayan mountains like Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, and Machhapurchhre.

Annapurna Circuit trek gives a dramatic change in altitude: from the lower than 1,000m to up to 5,416m. The trail includes farmlands, and also arid, snowy fields. The path leads to attractive villages of a vast diversity of ethnic groups and offers majestic views of the Himalayas. Gurung, Thakali, Magar, Brahmins, and other casts reside in this region.

After Thorong La pass (5416m), the trail descends towards Muktinath. Muktinath is a place of nirvana and also one of the sacred places for Hindus and Buddhists. While entering the compound of Muktinath, there are Tibetan-style prayer wheels, Gompas, and Vishnu Mandir. Descending trails of Jomsom goes through Kagbeni, located on the banks of Kaligandaki River. We walk through the world’s deepest gorges of Kaligandaki and get to the natural hot spring of Tatopani. Unwinding at the hot springs with a drink will be a feeling like none other after long days of the trek.

The trek also includes Poon Hill the attractive hill station for sunrise. From view tower of Poon Hill, we can see Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.

Finally, reach Pokhara, a beautiful city of lakes and mountain views. You will have a day sightseeing in Pokhara. Different museums, caves, mandirs will be visited. And, following day you will back to Kathmandu. You will have multiple options to back Kathmandu.

Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri Trek -14 Days

Onward the Gokyo Lake Trek, you pass the popular Namche Bazaar, which is the main trading town of Khumbu. Namche is also the gateway of the Everest region. Carefully designed itinerary of Gokyo valley includes an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. In the day we explore Namche, visit Sherpa museum. Then hike up to Syangboche airport, claimed to be the world’s highest airport, and see the mountains from Everest View Hotel with sipping coffee.

Amid the Sherpa villages, Khumjung and Khunde are the most notable ones. Seventy percent of Sherpas who are working in Himalaya as a guide or businessman is from the same town. Khumjung and Khunde villages are the oldest Sherpa villages, which allow learning the core history of Sherpa dynasty, religions, culture, and costume. These villages have included in Gokyo Lake trek. Gokyo valley trek is special for the view of Himalayas, lakes, and glaciers. Gokyo Ri hosts some of the best views of the mountains. From Gokyo Ri you can see scenic views of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Mt.Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Baruntse, Mt. Makalu and many more snowcapped peaks, lakes, and glaciers.

After exploring the Gokyo Lakes, and biggest glaciers Nozungmba the trip turns back to Lukla in a few days. The returning route is the same that we trekked before.
