On the 25th April 2015 at 11:56 am (NPT) an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit Nepal. Its epicenter was Barpak in the Gorkha district with the hypocentre approximately 15km in depth. This devastating earthquake resulted in the death of 9,000 people, a further 13,000 people were injured and a total of 8 million people have been affected by this disaster. This is the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal-Bihar earthquake.

The reconstruction of Nepal cannot be achieved by the Nepalese people and government alone, we need your help. We at Apex the Asia holidays have designed a voluntourism itinerary which operates in the Gorkha district. This trip includes some days working with local Nepalese on reconstruction work and then some short trekking days. The trek will be the Poon Hill Ghorepani Trek. The program is associated with an NGO – Community Organization for Sustainable Development Nepal, we donate the NGO for providing training in schools, villages, health post.
