Overview

Annapurna Tent peak also known as Tharpu Chuli, which is the most climb peaks of the Annapurna region. It has a height of 5663 m and lies in Annapurna Sanctuary.

The trail goes through the world’s largest rhododendron forest, local villages and traced farmland and trail is stony, flat, ascending, descendible and winding, the passes through villages of Brahmin, Gurung, Chhetri and Magar. On, the day of 12, you will reach at high camp and on day 13, you will summit the peak. It is an easy to climb with the help of climbing guide and basic climbing equipment.

Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal! We will receive you the airport and transport you to hotel.

An Apex  Asia Holidays representative will organize a small pre-trip meeting at the hotel lobby before commencing the day trip. Please bring a copy of your passport, travel insurance document and three passport-size photos.

Then we head off for sightseeing of the Kathmandu Valley. You will visit three main places: Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most revered temples for Hindus. Every year thousands of pilgrims visit the temple from different countries. Bouddhanath is located in the outskirts of Kathmandu city and is a holy Buddhist monument. Meeting monks, learning about Buddhism and stupa dome is the main attractions of Bouddhanath. Finally, Bhaktapur Durbar Square large premises of ancient house and temples is a settlement of local ethnicity called Newars. Fifty-five-window Palace, golden temple, pottery house are definitely worth a visit in the tour.

After the tour, we head back to Thamel, where our guide will help you with checking gears required for the trek. There are plenty of trekking shops in Thamel, so you can rent or purchase if you’ve missed anything to bring.

This is a quite an exciting day for trekkers because after breakfast, we reach the bus station for a drive to the scenic lakeside city of Pokhara. The drive is about 7 hours and goes through scenic countryside of central Nepal. We stop for lunch at Gunadi at around 11:30am, and reach Pokhara in another 2 hours. Pokhara is a holiday city, and looking at the lakes, hills and mountains, it is no wonder why it is so well known. Wide panorama of Annapurna range is clearly visible from the city, most notably Machhapuchare (Fishtail mountain) that prominently overlooks Pokhara. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu also tower above.

After 1.5 hour drive from Pokhara, you reach Nayapul then short trek through the bank of the river of Modi Khola to get to Birethanti, a large village with teahouses and shops. When you reach Ramghai, we stop for lunch. After lunch, the trails continue to the north along the banks of Bhurungdi Khola. Then steadily up the trails we head to the north to reach Tikhehdunga, at an altitude of 1570m. We stop here for the day and check into a guesthouse.

After a steep climb to Ulleri at the start of the day, the most difficult part of the trek will be behind us. Ulleri is a large village of Magar ethnic group that lies at an altitude of 2070m. Now the walking path gradually ascends from the point to Banthanti through the oaks and rhododendrons forest. Banthati is a place for lunch where you reach in 3.5 hrs from Tikhedhunga. Trail heads up to Ghorepani (2840m) via Nangethanti (2460).

Get up early in the wee hours of the morning to hike up to Poon Hill (3210m). The stunning sunrise view over the mountains is really worth all the effort and waking up early. After spending about an hour on the hill, we head to Tadapani. The first climb takes us to Deurali, which boasts amazing view of Ghorepani against a backdrop of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, we start heading down to Tadapani, with some uphills and downhills along the way through dense forests.

This is a day, the first step to downhill through the rhododendron forest. The trails descend from Tadapani to get Gurung Village of Chhomrong at an elevation of 2170 m. You will stop for lunch at Ghurjung. After lunch two hours to the Chhomrong.

To get Dovan the path drops down to the Chhomrong and continues climbing to Khuldighar and continue to Bamboo where you will get the lunch. The trail runs through the thickest bamboo forest to get Dovan.

Comparatively, it is a short walking day, to caring altitude sickness and risk of avalanches in the area you need to cross the next morning. The day begins with the climb through the forest of bamboo and rhododendron to Hinko Cave via Himalayan Hotel and you will get Deurali for the accommodation.

The day trail begins to the Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp. It is totally surrounded by mountain, which is also called Annapurna Sanctuary. Two hours walking from the Machhapuchhre base camp, you will reach Annapurna Base Camp, where we encounter with panoramic mountain views.

After having the breakfast, you will be headed to the Tent Peak Base camp. In slow pace, walking takes five hours to reach the base camp where the guide gives the lecture about the program for tomorrow morning. The camping staffs will manage the accommodation of the day in tented camp with delicious food prepared by the cook.

We wake up early in the morning to stargaze and watch the sunrise over the mountains. It will be quite a vista to savour. After breakfast, we start walking to Bamboo on descending trails. The tiny hamlet is located on the banks of Modi Khola at 1,700m.

The trail goes steeply down to Jhinu, a natural hot spring. To get to Jhinu you follow the same trail until Chhomrong and Sinuwa and pass a sheep farm as well as bamboo and rhododendron forest. Finally you reach Jhinu, where you can take a dip into the natural hot springs.

Once we have our breakfast in Jhinu, we start walking on the banks of Modi Khola and finally reach Nayapul through Birethanti. We drive to Pokhara city where we can relax for the evening.

After a long trip in the mountains, we will be off on a relaxing tour covering religious, historical places in Pokhara. The day tour begins after our breakfast. During the tour, you will visit Phewa Lake, Barahi Temple, Devis fall, Gupteshwor Cave, Museums and Tibetan refugee camp.

We drive back to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. The drive takes about 7 hours on a scenic route. In the evening, there will be farewell dinner in a traditional Nepali restaurant with folk music and dance performance.

Walk slow, and give enough time to your body to fit in the high altitude. Drinking more water and stepping slowly with rest is the best protection against altitude sickness.
