Overview

Earthquake Memorial Ghorepani Trek itinerary is designed to help earthquake victims of Gorkha. Due to the massive earthquake in 2015 fourteen districts including Gorkha were badly affected, and most of buildings collapsed including schools and hospitals, health clinics etc.

We have set up this program in order to help provide some financial aid to Navajyoti Secondary School, in Tandrang village of Gorkha. The school is running in open sky and in zinc sheet cottages.

Navajyoti Secondary School is what Apex the Asia is determined to renovate through your support. The school was built in 1985 AD by the local community, as pre-primary school in cottage house then gradually step by step in two decades upgraded to secondary school in 2008 AD. There are currently 312 students, 13 teachers out of them 4 are paid by privately. Before being affected by the earthquake the school was running efficiently, but the earthquake resulted in beyond-repair damages in instructure. Since then, operation of the school has been challenging. It has been running with temporary cottages made of zinc sheets, plastic topline, etc funded by wellwishers. We are doing our best to raise funds to construct permanent structures for the school so classes can resume normally.

Once you visit the school, we make our way to Poon Hill Ghorepani Trek for a relaxing trek and stunning views of sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayas. The hills are bloomed with varieties of flowers, while tumbling musical sound of waterfalls and rivers will leave you mesmerized. Encountering with many travellers, trekkers in the trail will make your trip more memorable. We are hopeful the support provided to Navajyoti school from this trip will go a long way.

USD 100 for every purchase of this package will go for renovating and rebuilding the school. We are targeting to bring more people and raise more funds that can make a proper earthquake-resilient one-story building.
